SUPERVISION
Supervision by teachers is provided daily from 8.00am until 3.30pm.
For legal and safety reasons, children, should not be on the school premises before 7.30 am nor after 5.00 pm.
No child is permitted to leave the school grounds during school hours without a note or telephone call from a parent or guardian
TRANSPORT
Parents are required to inform the school in writing of any private transport arrangements they have taken for their ward along with a copy of the National Transport Authority (NTA) permit of the transport including the permit holder’s name, the bus/van registration number, telephone numbers including mobile and identification number of the of the driver/transport company.
Parents are expected to call the school well in advance to notify the school of any changes to the transport arrangements of their wards.
For security reasons the school will not allow any child to leave the school premises except with their parents or with their designated school bus drivers.
MEDICAL INFORMATION
If a child suffers from any medical condition and has any special medical needs e.g. asthma, allergies, epilepsy, it is essential to inform the school. A copy of the Medication Policy can be obtained from the office. The following documents should be provided to the school:
- Current photograph
- Current treatment in the event that the child may need attention at school.
- Completed medication authority or certificate if the child requires medication to be administered during school hours – medication will not be administered without this requirement being met.
ACCIDENTS
If an accident occurs during school hours the following procedure will be initiated:
- For minor accidents a staff member trained in first aid will treat, and if necessary inform parents
- For more serious accidents parents and if necessary ambulance will be called and the child will be taken to the previously approved medical facility.
SICKNESS AT SCHOOL
In the event of a child becoming ill at school he/she will be accompanied to the Sick Bay where care will be given. Parents will be contacted.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS OR PHONE CONTACT NUMBERS
Should there be any change of address or phone number (work or home) the school should be notified immediately. This would avoid the loss of valuable time in case of an emergency.
LEAVING SCHOOL PREMISES
Pupils are not allowed to leave the school premises during the day unless accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
Parents must notify the school prior to sending anyone else to collect their ward and giving the description and ID number of that person.
An Early Departure book must be signed at the office before a student is allowed to leave before the departure time.
VISITORS AND GUESTS
During a classroom visit, teachers will not take class time to discuss individual matters with visitors.
Guests and visitors are welcome at school. All are requested to report to the school secretary first.
BOOKS AND STATIONERIES
Books are on sale at the school. Prices will be communicated to parents.
Students should have in their possession a set of 3 double line, 6 single line exercise books, 1 sketch pad and all their stationeries including HB pencils, erasers, rulers, coloured pencils, pencil sharpener and a pair of small scissors on their first day at school.
STUDENT’S BELONGINGS
All student belongings including their school uniform, PE kit, school bag and books should be clearly labelled with their name and class.
TIME TABLE AND MESSAGE BOOK
Parents should consult the time table in the student’s message book and outfit their child according to the activities they have for the day.
Homework and Classwork are set in the message book.
It should be consulted daily and signed when needed.
SCHOOL HOURS (MONDAY TO FRIDAY)
School for Pre-Primary, Grade 1 and Grade 2 starts at 08.30 hrs and ends at 14.30 hrs.
School for Grade 3 to Grade 6 starts at 08.30 hrs and end at 15.00 hrs.
7.30 a.m. Supervision commences.
8:20 a.m. FIRST BELL: children line up.
8.30 a.m. Pupils move to their respective classes.
9.50 a.m. SECOND BELL: Break time.
10.00 a.m. THIRD BELL: Break ends. Students move to class
11:30 a.m. Lunch time for Pre Primary and Grade 1 students
12:00 p.m. FOURTH BELL: Lunch time.
12.30 p.m. FIFTH BELL: Lunch time ends. Students move to their respective class.
2.30 p.m. SIXTH BELL: Pack up and departure time for Preprimary, Grade 1 & 2 pupils.
3:00 p.m. SEVENTH BELL: Pack up and departure time for Grades 3 to 6 pupils.
Pupils are dismissed and proceed to the designated Assembly Area for pick-up by parents and bus.
